Andrew Guinan

This page is dedicated to my younger son, Andrew, who we lost following an accident at a 4x4 off-road club event he was competing in, near Coupar Angus, on Sunday 27 February last year (2011). He was 23 years old and had given us a lot of support for our projects here, including so much of his help running the Markets and constructing the Railway, while at the same time, working at his home at Linwater.
Andrew was a wonderful optimistic lad, and always ready to make new friends. He loved his off-roading, and will always be remembered for his cheery smile and his willingness to help anyone.

Andrew Guinan
aka-muddy porcupine
Lang may yer winch whine
Lang may yer creepy tyres crawl
Thru bog 'n' all
And with our memories of you
May yer tdi engine never die
Rest in peace
Up there in the sky.

A really big thank you to everyone who supported us throughout last year, by giving practical help at the Markets and help run the Railway, and the many kind words.

We have chosen Tayside Mountain Rescue as a Charity to donate to in Andrew's memory. They are presently in the process of buying a brand new Landrover to be based at Aberfeldy, and we have agreed to help fund additional equipment needed for it. We feel this is an appropiate and excellent organisation to support, if you wish further information, please contact Peter,or if you are local and wish to leave a donation, pop it in an envelope in our secure green postbox at the end of the farm drive. Many thanks.

Generous individual donations from family and friends, along with money raised by the musicians playing at the Market, means we have already donated £2000. Recent kind donations have also come from The Atholl and Breadalbane Ploughing Society, and from the Firm of Contraflow Ltd. Thank you so much, this means a lot to me in that we are supporting an organisation that did turn out to help, and one I know Andrew would have wished to thank.

Tayside Mountain Rescue Asssociation are intending to be at the next Market on May 19th to show their new Landrover. We will be making some more fund raising presentations, including a generous cheque from The Pitlochry Gallery Association, to them around midday, which should bring the total monies raised to over £3000 in Andrew's memory. Please try to come along and support us. Thankyou.

Pete
